Japan (8 December 2011)

Performance and Artist's Talk with Sinéad O'Donnell

The artist talk went well organised by Sakiko Yamaoka and Midori Kadokra in Kawagoe city, Saitama, Japan. I arrived and was greeted by the organisers and then I had a tour of this beautiful town.

We all settled in and I began the talk unfortunately the live stream worked but then cut out and I didn't notice!! Sorry about that. Anyway, we had a good discussion and thank you so much to Momoko Shimizu for her translations and patience!!

To close the situation we discussed our artist friends Poshya Kakl and Darya Hamal in Kurdistan-Iraq who concurrently were making an action dedicated to the women in Iraq at a Human Rights event in Erbil.

Each visitor to the artist's talk was asked to send a message to Iraq in relation to how or what they wanted to say from Japan to Iraq at that moment.

I was then taken to a lovely restaurant for Japanese food and hot sake!! With everyone!

It was definately a political lovely action!!
